Athens, Ohio - an oasis. The local food is unmatched. The campus is bustling with students just a few years younger than us. It makes me miss college. It's a great town with a lot of history, and I'm glad that our director led us through (it's his alma mater). You can buy two pints of Killians for four dollars. Seriously. On draft. And that wasn't even a special. For this reason, we recommend Tony's Bar on State Street to anyone who might be passing through. For music, check out Casa Nueva, which is across the street from Tony's.
Quick history lesson: Opened in 1804, Ohio University is the oldest public university west of the Ohio River. Also, Matt Lauer went there. Now you know.
I won't say too much about our Band of the Week, The Frogwhompers - just wait for the webisode. You won't be disappointed.
We're heading to Columbus tomorrow, then taking a short break to catch our breath before looping around Ohio and trecking toward St. Louis in the coming weeks.
