Today was a long haul from Winchester, VA to a campground outside of New Creek, WV. We've learned that Route 50 is not the ideal East->West bike route. The shoulder at the side of the road has been small almost the whole way, and the hills seem to get steeper and longer each time. Maj acts like he isn't hurting, but I have a feeling that he's in just as much pain as me.
Our crew had a successful day, snagging some footage of a Confederate Army march in Romney, West Virginia. Also, while shooting some B-roll back in Winchester, they happened upon a local bluegrass band, Gallows Bound. Be on the lookout for their music in the 2nd webisode (Athens, Ohio), coming in a couple weeks.
Tonight is our first night camping, and the forecast calls for rain…
