It's beginning to feel like autumn. We needed our blankets last night - a relief after the sweltering heat we've been experiencing throughout most of our trip. We're taking a day off to center ourselves at Maj's mother's house in Winchester, Virginia.
Yesterday was full of surprises. Google Maps took us into a CIA facility, where we were questioned for thirty minutes after security found us biking through with cameras mounted to the handlebars. Whoops! Later, we rode for what felt like 500 miles on a busy highway road with no shoulder. I don't think we're taking the safest routes for bikers, but we are getting places quickly. Despite being slowed down by blown tires, car accidents, CIA investigations, and our filming, we've finally managed to get off the coast. You immediately notice the difference. The rolling hills. The breeze. The air just feels different out here. So do the people.
We sent off our first week's footage to our editor yesterday, so hopefully the first webisode will be up in 10 days or so. This week we are traveling through West Virginia, to Athens, Ohio. We have a couple bands from the area on our radar, and we'll let you know what's up as soon as we find out.
